City Plaza Apartments – Hotel near airport in Cairns

The hotel is nestled in the northern end of Cairns, offering a good location with easy access to the Esplanade, hospital, and Cairns central. The rooms had some cleaning issues and maintenance issues, but they were spacious with a pretty view of trees and well-equipped kitchens. The service was top-notch, providing flexibility with check-in/out times and arranging tours seamlessly. The location was convenient for airport transit but would be challenging without a car. The dining experience, while not elaborated upon, seemed to include guava jam, which could be a unique touch. Overall, the facilities could use some improvement to match the great potential of the location and friendly service.

The hotel rooms were beautifully appointed and spacious for our group of 3 adults, just a hop away from my home. While they smelled a little stale, we were never informed about this, and the decor seemed a bit tired and showed its age. The service was excellent; the staff was very nice, helpful, welcoming, and accommodating, especially during a difficult time when we were there for a funeral. The location was great, within walking distance to the waterfront and a short distance from shops, restaurants, and the beach. Unfortunately, the lounge area could be more extensive. The dining experience offered high-quality products. The facility was quiet, clean, comfortable, and close to the waterfront, but could benefit from additional lounges. Despite these minor flaws, the great value and everything we needed being easily accessible in the apartments made our stay memorable.
